Our Summer Vacation

We rented a cottage for a week, as we have for the past several years. This was a cozy place on Tamarack Lake, with a loft bedroom above the kitchen where the boys slept. As the girls were busy at camp, we took Levi and Aidan (his unofficial brother).
Obviously a lot of time was spent at the dock, fishing, paddle-boating, canoeing, swimming... Tiva was always very nervous when we were near the water, and felt she had to stand guard, or else actually be in the water "protecting" us.
Tiva is showing off her excellent dog-paddle, and Gord is either showing his a) pasty white body, b) lovely Tilley hat, or c) ability to sit in a floating chair.
Levi and Bev deep in discussion over some important issue, no doubt. We're waiting for the coals to be perfect for s'mores. Surprisingly we are not frantically swatting mosquitos, which we did a fair bit of at dusk, and also deer flies and horseflies during the sunlight hours.

Well, it took us a bit to getting into this blogging thing, but what a great way to stay connected, see pics and all. Your holiday too appears to have been a great break from the routine.
