Our mini vacation

Gord and I decided to do something we had never done in our 31+ years together...we went on a 4-day canoe trip in the wilderness of Massassauga Provincial Park. (Yes, there are Massassauga rattlesnakes there, but we didn't see any.) The forecast threatened rain, but we had beautiful weather and no rain at all. We had a short portage near the beginning, and then stayed on one campsite with side trips to explore the rest of Spider Lake (not too many spiders either). Actually, very few mosquitos too!
Also, unfortunately, very few (catchable) fish! Gord did, however, spend a lot of time casting and hoping. While he enjoyed this activity, I read or did crossword puzzles or Sudoku.
Here's part of our campsite, with the morning sun. Up the hill behind the canoe is where our tent is pitched. Most of our cooking and hanging out was done on the rocks in the foreground.
The beautiful central Ontario geography! I never tire of looking at the rock formations. Early in the mornings, the lake was smooth and clear like this - so calming and lovely! There was only one other campsite in sight, sharing the same bay. It felt almost like we had the whole lake to ourselves. A wonderful break from the city!

Hm, I'm wondering if the pictures will come in... so far, they haven't. I think you had an issue like this before.
