Toronto Island Bike Trip

We took advantage of two things: we have no children at home for a few days, and it looked like we would have a day without rain for a change! So, we packed some food and a few other things, and cycled to the ferry docks downtown. It's an easy 30-minute cycle along a marked bike path, and then we took a ferry to the Island.
Here's a map of the Island. Our ferry docked at the lower right, and we biked around. The residential area (more about that later) is on the far left. The south side (at the top) has beautiful beaches. One of them is clothing-optional...we decided to forego that particular destination.
Beautiful bike paths, and no cars allowed. Note the green grass, due to the aforementioned rainy summer. :) This photo gives a false impression -- there were actually many cyclists, walkers, roller-bladers, families, strollers, kids and dogs. It's a great place to retreat from the busy city.
A quick lunch stop under the trees. What you don't see is the view we had, of some cool sailboats and yachts, docked while their owners had more elaborate lunches than ours.

What a great day trip - we observed the ferry and imagined the island life when we were up the tower in June.
