Today I was enjoying the holiday (thank you, Queen Victoria), the sunny weather, and our back yard. So here are some of the things that made me happy today. Our beginning-to-bloom garden contains the columbine above, and the bleeding hearts below. The bleeding hearts plant usually gets about twice that big by the end of the spring.
I am well known in the neighbourhood for my love of clothes hanging on a clothesline. However, I can't take credit for this beautiful line. Hannah has inherited my love (some may say obsession), and if you look closely, you will see her t-shirts following the colours of the rainbow, beginning with red and ending with purple. Today was a good laundry day, she said, because she only has one green top and this week she washed it...otherwise there's something missing between yellow and blue. Does anyone else out there love laundry lines like I do?

I'm so glad we can hang laundry too - everything smells so fresh. I'm not as particular though about the color scheme. Your garden looks great - ours is taking much longer...still, we are enjoying every sign of growth and life.
